Oldham Simtronics Spyglass SG50-F Flame Detector
What is the Oldham Simtronics Spyglass SG50-F Flame Detectors? The Spyglass SG50-F is a flame detector family covering hydrocarbon, hydrogen and other alternate energy fuel fires, offered in triple infrared and ultraviolet with infrared technologies, with an on-board video option. The Spyglass SG50-F family covers a wide variety of fire types in a stainless steel housing, and is offered in triple infrared (IR3) and ultraviolet with infrared (UV-IR) technologies, including versions for hydrogen and other alternate energy fuel fires. An on-board video option lets a fire be viewed in real time or reviewed after an incident without anyone being at the scene. An ultra fast detection mode is available for spark and NFPA 33 applications, and the family covers arcs and sparks in windmills, munitions, and hot engine exhaust such as helipads. What are the specifications of the Spyglass SG50-F Flame Detectors?Detection technologies: triple infrared (IR3) and ultraviolet with infrared (UV-IR), plus hydrogen fire versionsField of view: 90 degrees horizontal, 80 degrees verticalSG50-F-UV-IR detection time: 5 ms for a fast fire burst or explosion, 1 s for a 0.1 m2 n-heptane pan fire at 0 to 15 m, under 2 s at 15 to 30 mSG50-F-UV-IR-F detection time: 5 ms for a fast fire burst or explosion, 1.5 s for a 0.1 m2 n-heptane pan fire at 0 to 15 m, under 3 s at 15 to 30 mAdjustable time delay 0 to 30 seconds, with automatic and manual built-in testOperating voltage 24 V DC nominal (18 to 32 V DC); 120 mA standby, 180 mA maximum with all systems including the window heaterOutputs: 0-20 mA, HART, Modbus and 3 relaysCable entries: two conduit entries, 3/4 inch NPT or M25 x 1.5, one plugged with a certified stopperExplosion proof approvals: ATEX, UKCA, IECEx, PESO, INMETRO, FM and FMC; performance to ANSI FM 3260 and EN 54-10Functional safety: certified SIL 2 per IEC 61508What should you check before ordering?Response figures here are test results against a defined fire, not marketing rounding: a 0.1 m2 n-heptane pan fire, measured at two distance bands. That matters when comparing the two UV-IR variants, because the F version is consistently the slower of the pair on the same fire (1.5 s against 1 s at 0 to 15 m, and under 3 s against under 2 s at 15 to 30 m), while both hit 5 ms on a fast burst or explosion. The temperature ceiling also moves with the temperature class ordered: T5 approval runs to 75 C ambient while T4 runs to 85 C, so the class chosen on the order limits where the detector can be mounted. How do the part numbers differ?Part numbers separate the detection technology (UV-IR or IR3, with H2 versions for hydrogen), the presence of HART and SIL 2, NFPA 33 compliance, and the cable entry thread (M25 or 3/4 inch NPT), so two references that look alike can differ on approval scope rather than on the sensor.PE Energy lists 78 orderable part numbers from this family, each fixed at order for detection technology, approval scope and cable entry.Where is it used?Typical service: Hydrocarbon fire detection in process and storage areas; Hydrogen and alternate energy fuel fires; Arc and spark detection, including windmills and NFPA 33 spray application areas; Munitions handling and storage; Helipads and other areas with hot engine exhaust; Incident review where the on-board video option is fitted. How do I order or get a quote?PE Energy supplies the Oldham Simtronics Spyglass SG50-F Flame Detectors on a quote basis: tell us the fire type, the area classification and the mounting, and we return the right part number with pricing and lead time. Every reference in this family is configured at order, so the part number carries the detection technology, the approval scope, the output and the cable entry. -

Oldham Simtronics TLU600 IS Infra Red Remote Control Unit with batteries charger
What is the Oldham Simtronics TLU600?The Oldham Simtronics TLU600 is: IS Infra Red Remote Control Unit with batteries charger (US/UK/AU adapters. The MultiFlame DF-TV7 is an optical flame detector for hydrocarbon fires, designed around minimising false alarms and fitted with an intelligent optical self-test. The family has two detection technologies: the DF-TV7-T reads three separate infrared wavelengths and detects hydrocarbon fires up to 80 metres away, and the DF-TV7-V combines ultraviolet with double infrared for higher immunity to false alarms and a shorter response time, detecting hydrocarbon fires up to 45 metres away. The detector connects directly to conventional fire controllers or to a PLC, and a DF-RV7 variant exists for the addressable SYNTEL network. Configuration, including time delay, sensitivity and output behaviour, is done with the TLU600 hazardous area remote terminal or over HART with a TLH710 or TLH720.About the MultiFlame DF-TV7 Flame Detectors lineThis part is an accessory for the MultiFlame DF-TV7 Flame Detectors line. The specification below describes the detectors it is used with, not the accessory itself.Detection technologies: triple infrared (DF-TV7-T) and ultraviolet with double infrared (DF-TV7-V)Detection distance: up to 80 m for the triple IR version, up to 45 m for the UV/2IR versionField of view up to 120 degrees, per the vendor product overviewOutputs: 4-20 mA, relays, HART as an option, and LonWorks for the SYNTEL systemPower supply 24 V DC (18 to 35 V DC on DF-T#7 versions, 18 to 30 V DC on DF-R#7)Typical power consumption 1.4 W for IR3 and 1.5 W for UV2IR, 5 W maximumOperating and storage temperature: -40 C to +65 CHumidity 95% RH non condensing, protection rating IP66Explosion proof housing in 316 L stainless steel, weight 5.1 kgPerformance certified to EN 54-10/A1, RFI and EMI to EN 50130-4, SIL 2 capableWhat should you check before ordering? The two technologies in this family are not interchangeable and the difference is measurable rather than a matter of preference: the triple IR version reaches 80 metres and is aimed at smoky hydrocarbon fires that are hard to see optically, while the UV/2IR version trades reach for speed and false alarm immunity and reaches 45 metres. Published MTBF also separates them, at 172,000 hours for the DF-TV7-T against 115,000 hours for the DF-TV7-V. One exception is worth catching at specification time: the manual states that reference DF-V7-XT0-0-0-0---1 is neither EN 54-10 compliant nor SIL compliant, so a site with an EN 54-10 requirement cannot take that particular reference. How do the part numbers differ?Part numbers separate the detection technology (XT for triple infrared, XV for ultraviolet with double infrared), the range (A standard, B long), the output (C configurable, H HART, L LON for the SYNTEL network), and the DF-RV7 prefix marks the addressable SYNTEL variant. Published detection distances are test figures: sensitivity in the field also depends on fuel type, fire size, atmospheric conditions such as wind, rain and fog, and the angle between the fire and the detector.Where is it used?Typical service: Refineries and chemical plants; Drilling and production platforms, and FPSO vessels; Fuel loading facilities and compressor stations; LNG and LPG processing and storage; Gas turbines and aircraft hangars; Stadia and gymnasia. How do I order or get a quote?PE Energy supplies the Oldham Simtronics TLU600 on a quote basis: send the part number with your application details and we return pricing and lead time. Fixed gas and flame detection is quoted rather than listed because most references ship configured for target gas, range, approval scope and cable entry, and those choices are fixed at the part number. This part belongs to the same product line as the MultiFlame DF-TV7 optical flame detector line already in our catalogue. -

With the structure’s size and complex design, fires are often difficult to detect and larger fires are less common due to the large air intake. TRAIN STATIONS AND TERMINALS Train stations and terminals often have large atria containing food and beverage outlets which have large air intake and often have little fire protection coverage. Additionally, within these areas, electricity and fuel are present, increasing the chances of ignition. STORAGE AREAS A wide range of substances are stored within open or closed storage facilities, part of which can be dangerous or flammable, creating a greater fire hazard than usual. ARCHIVES A large amount of paper work collecting dust poses potential fire hazards that require monitoring. MALLS With over 1,000 fire events taking place annually within the retail industry, it is imperative that the large open areas with high ceilings found in shopping malls have full fire protection coverage in order to avoid damage to assets and personnel. HOSPITALS Hospitals consist of large open spaces and confined rooms, all of which contain a wide variety of contents that pose hazards. Cooking and heating equipment, as well as electrical distribution, lighting and medical equipment such as oxygen tanks are found throughout hospital buildings and are all potential fire risks which should be protected against. CAR PARKING TOWERS AND GARAGES Areas intended for vehicle storage or maintenance contain large amounts of fuel and fumes within an enclosed space, posing a fire hazard that must be monitored. PUBLIC BUILDINGS Public buildings often house governmental offices and more, requiring excellent fire protection in order to prevent damage to assets and personnel in any potential fire. BANKS AND OFFICES Banks and offices face common fire hazards with large open areas, coupled with large amounts of paperwork and a large volume of people constantly passing through. HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL SITES Historical, cultural or national sites often contain irreplaceable assets, alongside flammable materials. A fire within these areas which were not designed with safety in mind would cause irreversible damage. AIRCRAFT HANGARS Large open floor areas with high roofs provide a suitable area for aircraft storage and repair. However, the large quantities of liquid jet fuel and risk of spill, coupled with maintenance activities provide potential ignition sources which is complicated by aircraft wing obstructions. CABLE TUNNELS Cable tunnels play an essential role in every industrial company. Any fire damage to the cables puts entire production areas out of action. As the cable tunnel environment deteriorates with time, cable insulation performance decreases, leaving an increased heating value and greater risk of tunnel fires and detection of these fires is essential in order to prevent further damage.
