Detcon

Teledyne Detcon builds fixed gas detection sensors, analyzers, and controllers for industrial and oil & gas facilities—covering hydrogen sulfide (H2S), combustible/LEL hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide (CO2), oxygen (O2), toxic gases, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), plus the Model X40 alarm and control system and OLCT fixed transmitters. PE Energy is a U.S. supplier of the Teledyne Detcon line; request a quote on any sensor, analyzer, or controller below.

What gases do Teledyne Detcon detectors monitor?

Teledyne Detcon fixed detectors cover the core industrial hazards: hydrogen sulfide (H2S), combustible/LEL hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide (CO2), oxygen (O2), toxic gases, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Match the gas you need to monitor to the sensor model in the table above; the Model X40 controller and OLCT transmitters tie multiple sensors into one system.

Which Detcon sensor detects H2S (hydrogen sulfide)?

For H2S—the sour-gas hazard common on wellheads, pipelines, and refineries—Detcon offers the TP-524D, TP-624D, and TP-700 electrochemical sensors, plus the Model 1000 H2S Analyzer for continuous concentration measurement. Choose a point sensor for area monitoring, or the analyzer where a measured readout is required.

What is the Detcon 700 series?

The 700 series spans every gas type Detcon detects: TP-700 (H2S), FP-700 (combustible), IR-700-CH (infrared combustible), IR-700-CO2 (carbon dioxide), DM-700 (oxygen and toxic), and PI-700 (VOC). If you are searching for a specific 700-series model, use the table above to reach its page directly.

What is the difference between the IR-700 and FP-700 combustible sensors?

Both detect combustible/LEL gas. The IR-700-CH uses infrared detection, which resists sensor poisoning and operates reliably in low-oxygen atmospheres; the FP-524D, FP-624D, and FP-700 are the standard combustible-gas sensors for general LEL monitoring. For carbon dioxide rather than combustibles, the infrared IR-700-CO2 applies.

What does the Detcon Model X40 do?

The Model X40 is an integrated alarm and control system that consolidates multiple gas-sensor channels into a single monitored unit with alarm outputs. Detcon also supplies OLCT 700/710 fixed transmitters and a Remote Alarm Module to extend alarms across a facility.
