Tideland Signal AB-68 Ex AUDIOBEAM 2NM and 1/2NM FOG SIGNAL
The AB-68-Ex Audiobeam is a multi-emitter array that broadcasts a 360° beam of sound in the horizontal plane to a preselected code. Designed for use on offshore installations in hazardous gas environments. It can be supplied as a 2 Mile Main Fog Signal or as a Combined 2 Mile and ½ Mile Fog Signal for Main and Standby Applications. CHARACTERISTICS EMITTER UNITS – The emitters are heavy-duty electromagnetic types with phenolic-coated linen diaphragms in watertight manganese bronze enclosures. They are highly resistant to corrosion and operate at only 25% of rated capacity ensuring the longest service life. ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT – Tideland’s ECU 800 generates the selected code. In the Main/Secondary arrangement 2 x ECU are used, one duty and one standby. A current monitor will automatically change over from the duty to the standby unit and report an alarm to a central monitor panel for both ECU-1 Fault and ECU-2 Fault. Any 2 driver units are sufficient to meet a ½ mile secondary range requirement. ECUs are mounted to the fog signal Array in an Epoxy Painted LM6 Alloy Exd Enclosure with IP66 protection. STRUCTURE – The supporting structure comprises 3x 316 stainless steel legs able to withstand severe hurricane force storms and harsh marine environments. The fog signal is completely assembled, wired and tested and ready for field connection. When a subsidiary light is required its bracket can be mounted to one leg of the structure. POWER – The advantage of the integral coder means the AB-68Ex can operate in autonomous stand-alone mode from a central or dedication local battery. Tideland can supply fully certified Zone 1 (ATEX CAT 2) power supply systems. Approved by USCG and Trinity House -

Tideland Signal EEx visibility sensor
ONE OF THE FEW FOG DETECTORS THAT IS EEx RATED The EEx visibility sensor measures atmospheric visibility (meteorological optical range) by determining the amount of light scattered by particles (smoke, dust, haze, fog, rain, & snow) in the air that passes through the sample volume. A 42-degree forward scatter angle is used to ensure performance over a wide range of particle sizes. MOR is calculated by the user by converting the received signal strength (extinction coefficient, σ) using Koschmieder’s formula, MOR (Km) = 3/σ. Performance in all weather conditions was a design prerequisite for the EEx Visibility Sensor. The sensor uses ATEX/IECEx rated EEx housings and offshore marine grade sheathed cables to ensure all-weather, Zone 1, IP66 certified performance. A sturdy aluminum frame painted with durable powder-coat paint is used to mount the housings and provide mounting to a customer supplied mounting pipe. Power and signal lines to the EEx Visibility Sensor are protected with surge and EMI filtering to help guarantee uninterrupted service for the life of the sensor. Installation of the EEx Visibility Sensor is easy. A mounting flange located on the bottom of the sensor housing mates with a user-supplied 4-inch IPS pipe. Power and signal connections are made through M25 threaded holes using user supplied, Ex approved cable glands and wiring. User wiring is made to DIN rail mounted terminal boards in the Signal Processing Box. Calibration of the EEx Visibility Sensor in the field is as simple as attaching a calibration fixture to the back of the sensor and following a procedure that requires less than 20 minutes. Each sensor is supplied with a calibration fixture. Semiannual calibration is recommended. FEATURES Up to 8km (5 mile) visibility range Forward scatter measurement technique ATEX/IECEx Zone 1 hazardous area Flexible output options Suitable for switching Lights and Fog Signals at two different visibility levels Simple installation and maintenance -

Tideland Signal SeaBeacon 2 System 6 racon
SeaBeacon 2 System 6, a frequency agile radar beacon (RACON), provides dependable service to all marine radars including those with modern narrow band receivers. SeaBeacon 2 System 6 is unequaled in frequency matching accuracy, consistency pulse-by pulse response and advanced sidelobe suppression. CHARACTERISTICS Greater operational range – SeaBeacon® 2 System 6 provides improvements in receiver dynamic range, receiver sensitivity, power consumption and transmitter power. Better receiver sensitivity and higher gain antennas give superior range performance with solid-state radars. Available with or without pressurisation – The GMU version of SeaBeacon® 2 System 6 is available with or without pressurisation. Pressurising racons with nitrogen provides added protection against the corrosive marine environment, seasonal variations in ambient temperature, pressure fluctuations, condensation and accidental submergence. Dual-token sidelobe suppression – Radars are identified accurately by measuring frequency and pulsewidth. Amplitude values are used to block responses to sidelobes. User selections – Operating parameters such as quiescent periods, trace length, active period, extended quiescent and standard response code (per IALA recommendations) can be programmed in the field using an optional hand-held keypad or laptop. Intelligent power management – Users may program quiescent and active time intervals to match performance and power consumption requirements. To further reduce power consumption, if no local radar is detected, the racon automatically returns to its quiescent state after a four second active period. Extended quiescent state for low traffic areas and seasonal inhibit further reduce power consumption. Periodic quiescent periods allow the radar operator to view the radar screen ensuring that no targets have been obscured by a racon response. Proportional scaling – Ensures length of racon trace appearing on the radar screen is generally uniform on all range settings. Monitoring – SeaBeacon® 2 System 6 racons can be linked, via Tideland’s NavLink®, to a manned base station for remote monitor and control functions. Hazardous use rating – Available for General Marine Use (GMU), NEC Class 1 Division 2 (not pressurized), IECEx/ATEX Category 2 (Zone 1) or ATEX Category 3 (Zone 2)for hazardous areas. Compliant to – IALA Recommendation R-101 on Marine Radar Beacons (RACONS) Edition 2 December 2004. -

Tideland Signal TF-3B Micropower omnibus II flasher/lampchanger
TF-3B is a completely automatic solid-state flasher and six-place Lampchanger for use in Tideland Signal marine signal lanterns. It is also compatible with most other manufacturers’ Lampchanger. CHARACTERISTICS LAMPCHANGER – A moisture protected stepper motor provides necessary torque to rotate a six-place lamp turret. This unit is suitable for lamps rated from 2 to 70 watts. An optional high temperature lamp turret is available when using lamps rated 70 to 110 watts. All contacts are gold-plated for corrosion resistance and long life. PROGRAMMING MODES – TF-3B provides 256 preprogrammed flash code characters that can be synchronized to flash in unison with other lights with the same flash code selected and synchronizing terminals connected. In the event that one or more lights fail, remaining lights continue to flash in synchronization. Tideland’s optional SignalView allows for easy user programming from a laptop/PC. REMOTE MONITOR AND CONTROL – MicroPower OMNIBUS® II circuit allows for monitor and report status of the following via Tideland’s NavLink® system: status of operating lamp, number of lamps remaining, battery voltage (loaded and unloaded), Sunswitch, active flash code, alternate flash code, flash code setting, lamp fuse, solar voltage, lamp current and rotation period (if used in rotating beacon). Available control functions include switch to alternate flash code, override Sunswitch, recount good lamps, variable voltage to lamp (optional).
