Whitmore's Caliber M is a series of extreme pressure lithium complex greases that contain molybdenum. The series is designed primarily for use in draglines, shovels, drills, earthmoving equipment and other heavy-duty rolling stock applications. Caliber M has the extreme pressure capability to prevent wear in heavily loaded bushings and bearings. Caliber 3M contains 3% solid lubricants and 5M contains 5%. Whitmore's Caliber 460 M is a robust extreme pressure (EP) lithium complex grease containing molybdenum disulfide. It is designed primarily for earthmoving equipment and other heavyduty rolling stock applications. Whitmore has combined high oil viscosity with a synergistic blend of three solid lubricants to form a grease that can withstand high load and prevent scuffing or pitting of contact surfaces. Caliber 460 M can be used with confidence no matter how rough the terrain. The lithium complex thickener assures outstanding stability and water resistance. Increased re-lubrication frequency will be necessary at sustained temperatures above 185°F (85°C). The high protection from extreme pressure makes it suitable for use anywhere high load is encountered. Protection from wear under high load is accomplished by the use of SL-Tech, a proprietary blend of light-colored solid lubricants. This forms a protective cushion and provides greater extreme pressure properties than MoS2 or graphite. Protection is further enhanced by the use of selected additives that increase film strength and adhesion. The usable temperature range for Caliber Blue is from -35°F (-37°C) to approximately 200°F (95°C). Higher temperatures can be tolerated with increased lubrication frequency. BENEFITS: VERSATILE FORMULATION - one grease can cover all normal ambient temperature applications in the slow to medium speed range. EXTREME PRESSURE/ANTI-WEAR - protects against scoring, high shock load conditions, thus reducing downtime and costs of replacement parts. SAFE - contains no heavy metals or hazardous ingredients. APPLICATIONS: Caliber Blue grease is ideal for heavy-duty plant lubrication, earthmoving equipment and any application involving extreme pressure, especially at slow speeds.
