Air Hose Connections

Cable: 1/8" Hose I.D.: 1/2" - 1 1/4" Length: 20 - 1/4" This is a safety device designed to prevent accidents or injury from hose "whipping" during coupling or hose failure. Meeting MSHA and OSHA requirements for hose restraint, IndustrialHD Whipchek are used in mining, as well as many industrial air hose applications. These strong steel cables prevent hose whip in case of accidental separation of coupling or clamp device. The IndustrialHD Whipchek reaches across the hose fittings to provide standby safety for hose. Spring-loaded loops in the cable ends open easily to slip over the couplings for a firm grip on the hose. This product has been thoroughly tested with more than 30 years of proven service. This safety device is intended only for use on air hoses 4" ID and under, operating at pressures of no more than 200 PSI. When a pressurized air hose becomes accidentally uncoupled or a hose or fitting failure occurs, the rapid expansion of air causes the hose to whip violently creating a potentially lethal situation. The spring loaded loop is placed over the hose, and the choker end is wrapped around the tool handle or pipe outlet and cinched tight in a choker configuration. OSHA 29 CFR § 1926.302(b)(1) Pneumatic power tools shall be secured to the hose or whip by some positive means to prevent the tool from becoming accidentally disconnected.
