Price range: $113.06 through $361.97Jet-Lube Modified-LZF is a lead- and zinc-free (LZF) tool joint thread compound, an API-modified drill pipe dope that provides make-up/break-out lubrication and galling protection on rotary shouldered connections without heavy metals. Questions we get asked about this product What is the friction factor of Modified-LZF? Jet-Lube publishes a friction factor of 1.0, relative to API-MODIFIED. That is the figure a torque sheet written around an API modified compound already assumes, so it needs no correction factor. The same data sheet gives a service rating of 0°F (-18°C) to 450°F (232°C), states the compound seals to 10,000 psi, is H2S inhibited, and conforms with API 5A3 for use with casing, tubing and line pipe. What does API modified mean on a thread compound? It names the compound family used on rotary shouldered connections, the one your torque sheet assumes when it gives a make-up figure. The number that ties the two together is the friction factor. Is Modified-LZF lead free? Yes, and zinc free. Jet-Lube states that leaving zinc out removes the potential for hydrogen gas evolution. It is the lead free alternate for API-MODIFIED, which is what most operators now specify in place of the older lead bearing dopes. What pack sizes are stocked? $1,053.47MoS2 DRY FILM LUBRICANT Jet-Lube MOLY-MIST consists of a high percentage of micro-fine MoS2 suspended in a unique liquid, quick drying vehicle, it bonds dry-form MoS2 powder to surfaces without heating or baking. When sprayed on any surface it “touches dry” quickly and cures to an even, tenacious coating in 30 minutes. Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) is a solid, dry-form lubricant with a coefficient of friction of only 0.03. Under sliding pressure, it will bond to ferrous and nonferrous metals, plastics, glass, rubber, wood, etc. It has high chemical and thermal stability; is inert to water, oil, alkalis, many acids and solvents. MOLY-MIST lowers friction, prevents galling, seizure, stickslip, fretting, corrosion and metal-to-metal contact; reduces torque and power consumption. It can be applied while equipment is in motion, deposits a coating of MoS2 on hard to reach surfaces of fixed, moving or irregular parts. MOLY-MIST is used wherever a dry lubricant is needed, particularly where temperatures are extreme, where environments are hostile, and where friction must be kept to a minimum. For high temperature applications the equipment must be cool prior to application due to propellant flammability.
