What are Appleton Sealing Fittings?

Appleton Sealing Fittings prevent the passage of gases, vapors or flames from one portion of conduit system to another. These explosionproof, dust-ignitionproof and raintight fittings are designed to restrict any explosion to the sealed off enclosure and prevent pressure piling within the conduit system. They are suitable for use in Class I and II locations where the electrical code requires the use of a seal between and enclosure and a run of conduit. Kwiko A sealing cement and filler is used, in classified areas, to contain and restrict the passage of gases and explosions from one portion of a conduit system to another. Fiber filler makes dams around and between all conductors to prevent sealing compound from leaking while being poured in its liquid state.
