Appleton ATX DB Series Drain and Breather Valves

What are Appleton ATX DB Series Drain and Breather Valves?

Appleton ATX DB Series Drain and Breather Valves provide a means for the prevention and/or release of condensation when properly installed. Flameproof bleed valves are generally installed at the bottom of an enclosure housing to drain moisture caused by condensation. Increased safety breather drains are used to allow moisture contained inside of an enclosure housing to vent or drain. They ensure that the condensation is evacuated from the lower section of the enclosures and limits the “pumping” effect in the upper section. Combination drain-breather fittings are generally installed at the top and/or bottom of an enclosure housing allowing the fitting to act as either a drain or a breather. These increased safety, flameproof fittings have accurately tapped, tapered threads for tight, rigid joints.
