What are Appleton ES Bolt-On Series Line Starter Enclosures?

Appleton ES Bolt-On Series Line Starter Enclosures combine thermal magnetic circuit breakers and magnetic motor starters to provide across the line starting and stopping of polyphase AC motors, branch circuit protection, disconnect means, and motor running overcurrent protection. ES explosionproof, dust-ignitionproof line starter enclosures are designed with a precision machined flame path between the box and the cover. An O-ring gasket is provided to seal out moisture, dust, oil, dirt etc. All starters are 3-pole and equipped with overload protection. The removable covers have with captive, hex head bolts and are hinged on left side providing easy access to the interior for installation and maintenance. The breaker handles are rugged and positive operating, and the actuator is designed to self-locate on the breaker handle, preventing damage to the breaker toggle if the door is closed without aligning handle with breaker toggle position. The enclosure has two tapped and plugged openings in the cover for the installation of push buttons, pilot lights, selector switches, and other accessories which can be factory installed or added later in the field.
