Appleton WST and WDS Cast Aluminum Enclosed Disconnect Switches are designed to control power going to fixed electrical equipment. They are ideal in heavy duty applications where a heavy duty switch is required for disconnecting motors. The gasketed design allows them to be used in nonhazardous applications requiring raintight or watertight construction. Short circuit withstand rated to 200,000 RMS symmetrical amperes (Class R, J Fusing). Class R fusing standard on fusible units, and can be retrofitted with Class J, K, or S fusing. The operating mechanism is designed to endure at least three times the number of operations required by NEMA and UL standards. Visible blades provide an extra measure of safety while the low mass cam allows greater blade operating speed and reduced mechanical wear. The modular componentry allows for quick and easy maintenance. The cover can be padlocked closed. The ergonomically designed, external operating handle can be locked in the OFF position with provision to lock in ON position. WST and WDS are equipped with defeatable door interlock which allows emergency access when switch is energized.
