PGL 400 PAIL Open Gear Lubricants

Whitmore’s PGL-400 open gear and wire rope lubricant meets the EPA Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) and is characterized as TCLP-SAFE.

Developed in response to environmental concerns, worker safety and potentially expensive disposal costs, PGL-400 combines high performance and year-round operating utility with an environmentally safe performance system, free of solvents and TCLP heavy metals.

PGL-400 generates a tough, durable film on metal surfaces which resists pound-out and sling off. PGL-400 also contains graphite and MoS2 (“moly”) to help protect expensive parts under conditions of severe load. Lubrication and maintenance of draglines, mining shovels, track drills and other mining machinery can be simplified by the use of PGL-400. Open gears, wire ropes, and slow moving bearings can benefit from the use of PGL-400, allowing lubricant inventories to be reduced.

PGL-400 has been approved for use on the wire ropes and open gears of ship lift systems built by Syncrolift.
