What is the Parmelee 71155?

The Parmelee 71155 (G2 1-1/8 W/LINER) is a G2 girth for pipe, tubing or rod with a 1-1/8″ outside diameter (OD), with a liner welded to the inside. The girth is the 3-piece head of the Parmelee pipe wrench that grips the pipe, tube or rod 360 degrees around its outside diameter. It mounts on the H2 medium gauge handle (Parmelee 71002), sold separately.

The Parmelee wrench (sometimes spelled Parmalee), also called pipe tongs or a friction wrench, has no teeth: this girth closes around the work 360 degrees and does not mar polished pipe or piston rods.

The girth of the No. 2 wrench is drop forged steel, toughened and hardened by heat treatment. On this girth a liner is welded to the inside, which gives a machined gripping surface instead of the standard polished finish.

Which pipe size does the Parmelee 71155 fit?

It fits 1-1/8″ OD only. Parmelee makes a separate girth for each diameter of pipe, tubing or rod, and a girth cannot be used on any other diameter. Measure the outside diameter before ordering; for pipe known by its nominal size, see the IPS girths.
