What is the Parmelee 71114?

The Parmelee 71114 (G2 1-1/2 IPS) is a G2 girth for 1-1/2″ IPS (iron pipe size) pipe, which has a 1.900 in. outside diameter. The girth is the 3-piece head of the Parmelee pipe wrench that grips the pipe, tube or rod 360 degrees around its outside diameter. It mounts on the H2 medium gauge handle (Parmelee 71002), sold separately.

The Parmelee wrench (sometimes spelled Parmalee), also called pipe tongs or a friction wrench, has no teeth: this girth closes around the work 360 degrees and does not mar polished pipe or piston rods.

The girth of the No. 2 wrench is drop forged steel, toughened and hardened by heat treatment. Standard girths like this one have a polished finish.
